So Christmas day did not go according to plan but was a great day as I had unexpected company.
I did miss getting down the shed but soon forgot about it and the drink and food flowed.
I finished off the counter balance stand for the Storm Catcher today, it just needs paint, that can wait untill it is warmer and dryer and it works much better now. I have part built Storm Catcher on it and I am now working on passivating the blades before final assembly, I am just waiting for some citric acid to arrive. Citric acid passivation is a post fabrication process that uses citric acid and electrolysis to prevent corrosion of stainless steel .
The process removes any free ions on the surface, this allows a natural oxide layer to form a protective barrier.
People often believe that stainless steel will not corrode but the clue is in the name stainless. Not no stain.
